Over 60 schools across Australia come together for the 2020 Kids Teaching Kids Virtual Conference
Earthwatch Australia’s Kids Teaching Kids program provides end-to-end education opportunities to create awareness of environmental issues and inspire future environmental leaders. Students have been working to produce a peer-teaching video workshop to inspire action and drive real environmental change in their schools and local communities. The theme for this year's conference is 2030 Vision: Rehabilitation. Students focus on climate solutions to build a better tomorrow, with attention on rehabilitating environmentally damaged areas. Looking at solutions that are already in reach, students peer teach about this and take matters into their own hands. The virtual conference offers student-produced workshops and performances, educational resources and links to lesson plans from Earthwatch Australia and Kids Teaching Kids partners. With kids in the driver's seat, there will be interactive school challenges, environmental ambassador keynote speakers, live performances and inspirational student emcees. Kids Teaching Kids are on a mission to support and connect our national community of young learners this year and in to the future. The virtual platform has been developed, so that students can raise their voice and inspire behaviour change, whilst they teach our wider Australian community about their own vision for 2030.
